Overview
Routing Guides automate carrier outreach when loads become available. This feature enables you to set up predefined rules for notifying carriers about loads that match specific criteria (lanes, equipment types, etc.). The system supports multiple communication channels (email, SMS, phone calls) and offers both immediate and scheduled outreach modes.Routing Guide Types
BLAST Mode
- Sends notifications to all carriers simultaneously.
- All outreach to carriers is triggered at the same time.
- Best for: Urgent loads or competitive bidding.
WATERFALL Mode
- Sends notifications to carriers sequentially.
- Waits a configured number of minutes between each carrier.
- Respects business hours if configured.
- Best for: Prioritized carrier selection.
Outreach Modes
IMMEDIATE Mode
- Triggers when a load becomes
UNASSIGNED. - Respects business hours (outreach window) if configured.
- Creates individual campaigns per load.
SCHEDULED Mode
- Runs at specific times and days.
- Scans for all matching loads since the last scan.
- Creates batched campaigns with multiple loads.
- Sends all notifications immediately
Matching Logic
Loads are matched to routing guides based on the following criteria:-
Location Matching
- Origin must be within the
pickupRadiusMilesof the routing guide’s pickup location. - Destination must be within the
dropoffRadiusMilesof the routing guide’s dropoff location.

Equipment Type Matching
- If the routing guide has no specific equipment types, it matches all loads.
- Otherwise, the load must have at least one matching equipment type.

Best Match Selection (when multiple guides match)
- Prioritizes guides with matching equipment types.
- Prefers smaller radius matches (closer total distance).
- Falls back to the most recently updated guide in case of ties.
Communication Channels
- Sends email with load details.
- Includes carrier-specific information.
SMS
- Sends concise load information.
- Limited to 160 characters.
Phone Call
- Uses an AI agent to communicate load details via outbound calls.
